Time for a nightcap: between shows at Paris Fashion Week

Vin à la mode. Paris Fashion Week always provides the excuse to indulge in the best that the French have to offer - buttery croissants, an expertly made café au lait, and (arguably most important) the perfect post-show nightcap. Here, we round up a selection of our favourite Parisian wine bars to slink into as the sun begins to set. À votre santé.

Café de Flore
172 Saint-Germain Boulevard
Boasting some of history’s most enviable clientele, think Picasso and Simone de Beauvoir, Café de Flore has maintained it’s classic French style since the 1800s while also remaining very au courant, with an intimate selection of aperitifs, wines and light pickings to accompany. Sit on the Saint-Germain and watch the world go by.

Andy Wahloo
69 Rue des Gravilliers
Attached to the well-established Derrière restaurant, Andy Wahloo will supply you with any drink you can think of. The bar has its own separate menu dedicated to their signature cocktails, created by chief barman Benjamin Chiche, you can sip on a Mademoiselle Lou or a Scandal Water ’til your heart’s content (or until you slip off your bar stool). With its interior of provocative pop-art and deep-seated leather booths, it’s one of our favourite places to rendezvous in the French capital.

Le Mary Celeste
1 Rue Commines
“Do you think it’s too much?” Gatsby asks. “I think it’s what you want,” Nick replies.
A menu dotted with some of F.Scott Fitzgerald’s finest quotes and intricate, nautical illustrations, Le Mary Celeste is never too much. Housing daily changing plates, a raw bar and an extensive selection of natural wines, Quixotic Projects has weaved its familiar creative tone throughout, creating an elegant yet playful space to relish all of life’s finer things - just as Gatsby would have wanted.

Le Siffleur de Ballons
34 Rue de Cîteaux
We're never ones to turn down a cheese with our wine, and Le Siffleur de Ballons does it oh so right. Opened by sommelier Thierry Bruneau, the wine is undoubtedly tasty but it is the innovative (cheesy) snacks that have us telling everyone we know to pay a visit. A contemporary space with a local vibe, they also give the option of taking a bottle home with you if an after party beckons.

Bar Hemingway
15 Place Vendôme
The much anticipated reopening of the Ritz Hôtel’s Bar Hemingway in 2016 unveiled a space that embodies everything we love about Paris - undeniably charming with exquisite attention to detail, with a menu of old-school cocktails blended by old-school cocktail legend, Colin Field. The reinvention of the dirty martini generated beaucoup de buzz amongst its regular patrons, and with each drink chaperoned by a fresh cut rose, is it any wonder we return here season after season?

Verjus
47 Rue de Montpensier
Located below Verjus restaurant (serving some of our favourite food in Paris), the underground wine bar and ‘tasting cave' boast a superior choice of natural wines at a deliciously modest price point. A place to unwind after a long day and work your way through a chalkboard of seductive suggestions.
