Music with Alexander McQueen

Sweet sounds. Alexander McQueen announced last week the second installment of a new initiative titled #McQueenMusic. The initiative allows followers to download music taken from prior Alexander McQueen fashion shows and beyond in their homes.

Isobel Waller-Bridge, who was the music composer for the McQueen Spring Summer 20 women’s fashion show during Paris Fashion Week last September, has created an exclusive new score for the house. Titled, Suspended in Air, the score was released last week via the McQueen Instagram page with Waller-Bridge working alongside Robert Ames and Galya Bisengaileva who also performed in the show last year.

Shot in the Peak District UK, the performance was captured on video where Ames and Bisengaileva are both isolating. Be lost in the 7 and half minute emotional score, where Ames and Bisengaileva are humbly playing in a home music room complete with floral curtains and all. Isobel Waller-Bridge has also created a Spotify playlist for the house that is available from the McQueen Spotify channel.

“I look around and I feel community more than ever. Community is a word so deeply associated with McQueen, and I wanted to celebrate that connectivity with diversity and energy. That doesn’t always mean in a major key, or fast paced, but two hours of diving into a world of excellent music to walk to, to stare at the sky, to run to, and to think of each other.”

McQueen Music follows on from McQueen Creators Nature Inspirations earlier this month. The initiative asked followers alike from around the world to submit a photography piece with the commission of a simple brief. To capture their perceptions of nature during this moment of global quarantine, and the entries were spectacular. We look forward to the next instalment of #McQueenCreators that showcases our ever important creative industries during this time of global crisis. Creativity will forever live on.
