First impressions are obsolete with model Lotta

Lotta Kaijarvi

It's all eyes on Lotta, and how could they not be? Delicate, almost ballerina-like in her movements, the contrast of her piercing blue eyes meet you wherever you start. Like many of her generation, she doesn't believe in first impressions – a wisdom she also shares with her view that happiness should come above all else. An approach she admits is easier said than done.

She's a sucker for Meryl Streep films and can eat a whole watermelon in one sitting. She's our kind of girl – through and through –and you're about to see her face everywhere.

Here, we get to know Lotta better, behind the lens of photographer Kristina Yenko. And best believe, we're all eyes and ears.

The first thing you should know about me is …

I adore dogs.

My star sign is …

Pisces

It suits me because …

To be quite honest that's quite about as much as I know about star signs.

My secret talent is …

Eating a whole watermelon on one sitting.

Something I truly believe in is …

Listening to my gut feeling when making even the smallest decisions.

Someone I look up to is …

My parents.

The most important lesson I’ve learned is …

Nothing is worth more than your happiness, easier said than done though.

Right: WYNNE dress.

My favourite film is …

Out of Africa. A young Meryl Streep and Robert Redford combo.

The last book I read was …

Move! By Caroline Williams.

First impressions are …

So subjective and situational that I don’t believe in setting your mind about someone simply based on those.

When my imagination runs wild it …

Takes me to empty beaches with clear waters to dive in and gives me a break from the reality.

Three words to describe me are …

Dedicated, loyal and sometimes stupidly stubborn.

Right: BRIAN LEE dress.

My beauty non-negotiables are …

Sleep and hydration, comfy bed and enough water does the trick for me.

The bravest thing I’ve ever done is …

Trust myself.

Love or lust?

Love with lust, please and thank you.

This year has been …

Interesting in both good and bad ways. Not my style to say no to a rollercoaster ride though. The highs come with lows.

Right: Stylist's own dress.

The most exciting project I worked on in the last year was …

Building my knowledge of wellness, nutrition and movement through school, books and insanely smart people around me.

Three words to describe my personal style are …

Comfortable, relaxed, simple.

My idea of paradise is …

Family and home, family is my home.

Introvert or extrovert?

Definitely introvert. I charge my batteries by hanging with myself (dogs always welcome to join though).

My personal heroes are …

My parents, the strongest, kindest and most inspiring humans I know.

Creatively I’m feeling …

Very excited right at this moment. World is a pretty beautiful place if you just look around and observe.

I won’t compromise …

My personal space, physical and mental.

The future looks …

The way I'll make it.

My words to live by are …

It’s okay to not always be okay.

In 2022 I’m most looking forward to …

Exploring myself and growing as a person.

My motto for the year ahead is …

Listen to yourself.
