Kate Moss’ most iconic outfits have transcended time

Kate Moss, the iconic 90's model that made boho grunge and sheer flare look effortlessly cool, that it's no surprise her nonchalant rock oeuvre is seamlessly seeping back in, flooding our Instagram feeds. Her sultry sheerness was so subversive, there is something so sexy and powerful in her illustrious looks where less was more and attitude was everything. And who could forget her champagne see-through slip dress, once Tumblr cool, now persists its legacy on almost every online platform.

Kate Moss is enduringly cool, as we can all agree upon, and remains so today. But what's more iconic than modern-day-Moss, is the young, '90s model that solidified her as such. This era inspired many individuals to reprise her cool allure, daring us to sport a see-through dress with a black bikini brief underneath- because, lets face it, who hasn't embodied a Kate Moss inspired look on their mood board?

If you want our perspective, her style was perhaps so alluring because it was accessible and comfortable. It has stood the test of time because the lack of effort present in most of her looks is something we can all relate to, and imitating it is only a skinny white tank top and worn-out pair of Levi's away. As much as we yearn for the 90's, 2023 offers no reprieve. From her runway appearances to her street style moments, Kate Moss's 90's style of having no agenda is the effortless we all yearn to replicate, that her influence is continuously inspiring looks to this day.

We would be lying to ourselves if we said we didn't want to look as cool as Kate Moss at Glastonbury. I mean could this look get anymore grunge? The leather jacket, gold shimmering dress with an unnecessary (but very necessary) black belt, and the most crucial piece, the bedazzled underwear. No one does Glastonbury quite like Kate Moss.

The LBD

Ostrich feathers don't get much chicer than this, folks! The perfect opening example of how Moss brings a certain element of restraint to her looks. Perhaps such a dress would look entirely different if it weren't for the slicked hair, subtle makeup and simple hoop earrings. Not even Johnny Depp can ruin this shot for us.

The Silver Dress

Literally every single person's face in the background of this image speaks to why it was such a moment and is also exactly how I feel about the year thus far. Not only was this look arguably one of her most memorable because of the nudity factor, but the entire ensemble or lack-thereof is what makes it so endearing. It's as if she's woken up from a nap after spending the day in the sun and forgotten that she's got to go out. Not a scrap of makeup, just a hair-tie, some black knickers, and away she went.

The Sweater Vest

It's safe to say that the sweater vest is officially back this season, folks. Which is why this moment gets an honorary mention. How does one wear a sweater vest and still look sexy and not at all like Chandler Bing from Friends? Kate knows.

The Pink Hair

Not an outfit, but a look all the same. The only moment I've ever dabbled with the idea of pink hair was after seeing this image, and perhaps the only person to date who can make it look this effortless. While I'm not one who is partial to grunge, I can agree to get behind pink Moss.

The 90's was a superior era for Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Versace, and to encapsulate that in one photo, what a treat to the eyes. This look takes heavy metal to a fashionable level, wearing metallic designs with pastel touches, this is the delicate punk look her rockstar persona deserves to wear.

White Tank and Blue Jeans

Above all, Kate Moss knows how to bring us down to reality and reassure us that there is nothing wrong with a good white tank and a pair of blue Levi Jeans. Time after again, even in a recent Bottega Veneta campaign, blue jeans and a white t-shirt were her crux. The exposed torso and low-waisted jeans offers an allure that Moss inhabits all too well.
