Quiet luxury has well and truly taken over the fashion lexicon this year, from Sofia Richie's toned down wedding looks to the fashions of the final season of Succession, to the unexpected serves by Gwyneth Paltrow in the courtroom – it's official that flashy logos and overt signifiers of wealth are out, and a preference for quality, timeless, 'discreetly expensive' pieces are in. But what we didn't have on our bingo card was for Jennifer Lawrence to steamroll into the quiet luxury'conversation (we are, however, sorely disappointed she won't be making an appearance in this year's hotly anticipated Hunger Games prequel film).
Lawrence's red carpet looks have always been gorgeous – recently donning Givenchy and Dior at the premiere of her R-rated comedy film No Hard Feelings – but we've seen her street style take a turn for the luxurious and understated, the actress donning some of the wealthy's go-to discreet brands like The Row, Bottega Veneta and Khaite for casual strolls around the city or visits to the MET Museum.
She (or Lawrence's styling team) have clearly got a stronghold on the quiet luxury movement's most coveted items, Lawrence having been spotted with Khaite's Envelope Pleat Suede Clutch, Burberry’s yellow Willingstone teddy coat, and a light-grey wool two-piece ensemble from The Row, consisting of their open-back Bamby top, matched with their low-rise wide-leg trousers. She's also a big fan of Dior, since she became the face of the Maison's AW 19 women’s collection, and more recently as the face of their Lady 95.22 bag campaign.
Needless to say, we here at RUSSH are currently obsessed with Lawrence's new style aesthetics both on the street and on the recent red carpets of Cannes and film premieres.
