White roses and saturated colours combine with the sweet taste of nostalgia as Jack River puts her heart on the line with her new single and accompanying video, Confess, directed by Imogen Grist. The beautiful with ugly, the good with the bad; the film captures the essence of the alt-pop genre by throwing back to blown up padded shoulders and all-over lace fabrics. Confess plays out like an 80s-inspired romance, featuring spliced up footage of old weddings and contrasted with soft, blurred edits of the singer-songwriter, crooning and melancholy. Enough to pull at the heartstrings of anyone who has confessed, loved and then lost. Play on repeat.
