For your next celebration opt for Australia’s most awarded sparkling wine producer

It may seem like there's not a lot to celebrate these days; what with rising Covid cases and half the population kept indoors for days on end. But as is the nature of life, the days keep rolling around, bringing with them a string of birthdays, promotions and all the other occasions that are worth marking with a bottle of bubbles. Personally, what set my birthday in lockdown apart from the chain of uninterrupted days spent at home, was a banquet from Lankan Filling Station and the presence of my favourite wine. For those among us in a similar boat, why not toast the affair with a bottle of sparkling wine from House of Arras?

Settled in the Piper's River region of Tasmania, House of Arras crafts Australia's most awarded sparkling wine. Taking cues from Champagne, House of Arras employ the labour-intensive french technique, Méthode Traditionnelle, when creating their sparkling wine. This process calls for the wine to be fermented twice with sugar and yeast, then disgorged to release any leftover sediment.

In 2020, House of Arras was named Sparkling Wine of the Year according to industry-publication, Decanter's, annual awards. While, House of Arras' winemaker Ed Carr was lauded as a "quietly spoken genius" by James Halliday, high praise in any realm, but especially to those who follow James Hallidays Wine Companion. In the 2020 edition of James Halliday's Wine Companion, it noted that, "The rise and rise of the fortunes of House of Arras has been due to two things: first the exceptional skills of winemaker Ed Carr; and second, its access to high quality Tasmanian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir."

“While there have been distinguished sparkling wines made in Tasmania for many years, none has so consistently scaled heights of Arras," the wine guide continued.

Offering a Grande vintage, Blancs de Blancs and a sparkling Rosé, there is truly a House of Arras bottle to pair with every occasion and inclination. Not only that, but tomorrow House of Arras will release its highly anticipated annual vintage range, just in time for you to weigh in on the collection yourself. For those looking to secure themselves a bottle Ed Carrs famous sparkling, you can find it on the producers website.

Happy celebrating! And to those searching for the best wine delivery service, we've got you covered.
