Did Frank Ocean and Luca Guadagnino actually make a music video together?

Is this a dream gone wrong? Frank Ocean and Luca Guadagnino = heaven. The infamous director of Call Me By Your Name has claimed to have worked on a music video for elusive musician Frank Ocean, and we are positively losing it at the very idea. The devastating news is that the director claims the music video "never happened" and has launched a public appeal to convince Ocean to finish the job. Sweet Luca - don't hold your breath.

In an interview regarding his upcoming HBO show, We Are Who We Are with New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan, Guadagnino apparently spilt the beans that they had been working on a "secret project" together. "We were collaborating on a music video that never happened,” Guadagnino told Buchanan, which the reporter revealed via a tweet “I use the Times to launch an appeal to Frank: Frank, let's do that video. Come on." yeah Frank, give the people what we are now relentlessly chomping at the bit to see. Throw us a bone!

Ocean has been a known long-time fan of Call Me By Your Name, and in-turn Guadagnino, although it is unclear what the music video they were apparently working on together was for or when the collaboration occurred. He has also been a known long-time culprit of letting his fans hang on by a mere thread while waiting for new music to drop since forever, with his release of Blonde, which was set to release in 2015, only to actually get released an entire year later. If there is one thing we know for certain, it's that Ocean has no plans on letting anyone rush him to do anything sooner than he absolutely wants to, Guadagnino included, apparently.

While we'll leave our expectations relatively low, we'll be keeping our eyes permanently peeled for any developments on the topic simply because can you imagine the magic?
