We are fast approaching the middle of February already, and as frightening as that seems, we are quelling the anxiety with our monthly fashion favourites from the home-grown new guard and reiterations of classics.
This season, we're looking towards subtle washed of colour, like pastel blue cords and olive denim in place of classic blue jeans. Staples are always a must, like a new blazer and cotton basics. For the summer feeling, blue and orange are colour combinations we're not ready to get past this season, with body scarves from Maggie Marilyn and 70s handmade crochet bikini's courtesy of Rachel Rutt. For footwear, we're looking at supple leather driving shoes by slow label Esse, and Converse's latest futuristic shoe, the Run Star Motion Low's for all day comfort.
As we wave goodbye to the remaining few weeks of it being officially summer, we're making a last ditch effort to extend the feeling of heat with our wardrobes. A toe into trans-seasonal wear with sturdier jeans and structures blazers, mixed in with colourful separates to keep the vibe alive. It's about handmade glass rings to remind us of the ocean, silk scarves that morph from top to bag and back to top again, lazy loafers to slide into, relaxed jeans to keep us protected but in shades that still evoke memories of warm air and cool water. Summer may be over soon, but we can cosplay our way into a few more weeks of warmth.
