I’ve been on a bit of a wardrobe downsizing mission for the last six months, but am now at a place where I’m starting to invest in some good, timeless basics – and I’ll never go past a good Jac + Jack basic tee. Shoes-wise I’m eyeing off a pair of patent Mary Janes from Sandler, and while I don’t often invest too much in beauty products – I’ve been eyeing off a couple of eco-friendly products from Conserving Beauty. I also recently had the pleasure of visiting Mint’s showroom, and have been transfixed on this Charles & Keith Petra shoulder bag in pink ever since.

I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day but since it always falls on the week of my anniversary with my boyfriend, I’ve been searching for a two-in-one gift. He’s decided he does want a pair of to complete his long standing dream of dressing like Fergus Henderson. Maybe, if he’s lucky. Also, I’ve converted him to Emma Lewisham, so I’ll be gifting a top up of the Illuminating Exfoliant. I just hope he’s not reading this. And if he is, I’d like a copy of Arrangements in Blue by Amy Key, Butter by Asako Yuzuki and the Miu Miu x Churches Brogues (blue sky thinking). Thank you very much.

items in my shopping list this month - russh editors

This month, I have a couple restocks of favourites on my shopping list. First being the Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base. I also need to refill my Emma Lewisham sleeping mask for that much-needed hydration after our recent heat wave.

In other news, with Valentine's Day around the corner (how?), it’s no wonder I’ve been dreaming of this Maison Balzac vase which would be the perfect vessel for any florals

I also have to include these Miu Miu slingbacks because I’ve had them in my cart long enough – at this point I need to follow through and proceed to checkout.

I’m classing the last two items on my list as belated birthday gifts to myself: the collection of ÖDE Studio candles are a no-brainer, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin because I need to make a dent in my incredibly long TBR.

Editors shopping list February 2024

There are so many things on my shopping list at the moment. But I’m trying to be more of a conscious consumer, so I try to match everything to gaps in my wardrobe or skincare routine before I commit to buying. Like the rest of the RUSSH team,I will definitely be buying a top up of Emma Lewisham skincare - her products are so effective. The Illuminating Oil Cleanser is my go-to cleanser and I’m running low, so that’s a non-negotiable.

I saw this new Realisation Par dress in one of the newsletters and fell in love. Green is my favourite colour and this style is so flattering. I think this will likely be one of the pieces that makes it through my shopping list cull. I live in linen pants, and I love these oat-toned Faithfull ones. It might seem excessive because I already have a few, but I just get so much wear out of them, I think it makes sense to add them to my closet. If I can justify the set, I’ll buy that too. Finally, I am so tempted by this tennis skirt from The Upside. I love the tennis aesthetic and since I live in activewear, I feel like I really would get wear out of it. But, I am a pilates person, so It might make more sense to get this set. It still feels tennis-inspired, but is more reformer-friendly.

I am always restocking on my Westman Atelier contour stick in biscuit, and have recently started accumulating their other products. I think my next purchase is their stick foundation, I really can’t fault their products, worth every single penny. Let a girl dream, but I am still dreaming of owning a leather Chanel mini flap bag, it goes with everything and will be a timeless piece I can own forever. For everyday wear I feel you can’t go wrong with some t-shirts, Maggie Marilyn has such a cute Ladybug t-shirt I feel is perfect with a pair of jeans and loafers for the autumn coming. I also went to the Mint showroom with Cass and was drawn to this smell, that wonderful and sexy smell being Celines perfume called Reptile. I also think that is such a cool perfume name.

February is always a financially fickle month so whilst my inclination is to buy lavish gifts in the spirit of Valentines and continuing my start-to-the-year-life-improvements, some of my list may be fantastical…

Ideally, I would love to invest in some new bedside lamps to encourage reading before sleep – I’ve always loved this Nelly lamp from Jardan and there is something rather sweet about this Resin Pellini Lamp from MCM House. In order to continue my domestic bliss and love of sharing food with friends, I would really love to invest in some new Laguiole cutlery because they are a classic and perfect for steak. Realistically, given my kitchen enthusiasm (or clumsiness) this Cultiver apron would make a lot of sense. Whilst we still have some summer ahead, I’m dreaming of hiding behind these Loewe Inflated Butterfly glasses and because I will always love her, this Ann blazer would be a welcome addition to my ever growing black wardrobe.

There’s never a shortage of things on my want list, but I’m trying to be financially responsible right now because A. I just got married and B. It’s my 30th in April and I’d like to treat myself to something special. But with that being said, I did just replenish my empty Aesop Hand Wash. Tempting to refill it with something else (because we all do!) but I love the little scrubby granules. I’ve also got these Jil Sander shoes in my cart (in my opinion, burgundy is a great ‘neutral’ in the context of footwear), plus this top from Matteau via The Undone — how beautiful is the colour and fabrication? I’ve also become oddly infatuated with the idea of a giant cuff, specifically this organic shape from Agmes. I feel like it’s an easy way to add interest to my regular uniform of jeans, a white tee and a loafer.

I hate warm weather because clothing options feel limited. I love a good pair of jeans and layers, and I’m eyeing off a new pair for the incoming colder season. These Maison Margiela ones are a great wash, and one I don’t already have in my jean library! I’m enjoying wearing cardigans as tops at the moment, and would pair my new jeans with a cute little crew cardi like this Reformation number.

I’m going to a number of weddings this year and am looking for one dress I can make my signature wedding look, and wear to them all. The hunt is on, and I’m looking for something classy but not too overdone (I run on the casual side). Something like this Ganni option could be a go; I do also love this Bottega Veneta dress and so will be participating in the money manifestation side of Tiktok to bless my account with the funds to buy (liking, sharing and commenting on every post to bring me good fortune!) My favourite part of this wedding season is finding a staple shoe to survive all terrain and also have a life outside of weddings, and these Tabis may be it. A contrasting and unusual colour that I personally would love to clash against the blue of the dresses, and top it all off with a little bag like this and I think I’m good to go!
