Ever since the music and magic of Dua Lipa first met our ears in 2017, her anthemic tune New Rules taking over hearts and airways for months, the singer has proven herself to be more than just pop star, but also as someone with considerable style; a fashionable force to be reckoned with.
Having since released two albums – and now with her acting debut in the billion-dollar baby Barbie movie – she's been slowly but surely reinforcing her status as a bonafide superstar. Her stellar wardrobe choices, made with the help of her long-time stylist Lorenzo Posocco, have also helped to cement her stylish reputation, now counting 'fashion designer' as one of her titles, post-debut of her ‘La Vacanza’ collection in the French Riviera with Donatella Versace this year.
Lipa has always had a soft spot for the Italian fashion House and its namesake designer, donning custom Versace atelier pieces to the 2019 Met Gala and a myriad of award shows. She also counts French fashion mogul Simon Porte Jacquemus as a close friend – so close that she was in attendance at the designer's wedding to Marco Maestri in the South of France.
Lipa's also been spotted regularly in brands like Vivienne Westwood, Diesel, Celine, Saint Laurent, and Australian designer Dion Lee. She's a fan of all things glittery, mini, Y2K and 80s-inspired. But while she has her go-to looks and silhouettes, what has carried Lipa to the upper echelons of fashion icon status is that she is unafraid to take a risk: sheer GCDS catsuits at Milan Fashion Week, or SpongeBob-yellow leather motor-cross sets.
As the co-host of this year's Met Gala, Lipa delved into Chanel's couture archives to don a regal white gown previously modelled by none other than Claudia Schiffer. Whether she's throwing together a casual look for a tropical vacation, curating her on-stage outfits or adorned in vintage and custom couture for the red carpet, Lipa's inherent sense of style always shines through.
