Stüssy and Dries Van Noten reel in Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Flea for its upcoming collab

Dries Van Noten Stüssy

Two unlikely forces are merging creative visions for an unexpected collaboration. The first party is Belgian designer, Dries Van Noten, who rarely gets involved with other labels. As for the second? It's the well-seasoned collaborative force that is Stüssy. In the past Stüssy has linked up with everyone from Converse to Birkenstock to Dior to Nike, ensuring that its logo is planted on just about everyone and everything. Now it has its eyes set on the cool, floral clad audience of Dries Van Noten.

So far few details have surfaced regarding the collaboration, save for a short clip of Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist, Flea, moving through yoga stretches while wearing a Stüssy bomber jacket with Dries Van Noten's distinct taste for patterns and patchwork motifs emblazoned across it.

Just like Stüssy and Dries Van Noten, Flea appears to be gearing up for a larger cameo which the video caption promises is "coming soon". When exactly is soon? Your guess is as good as ours.

Word of a potential team up between Stüssy and Dries Van Noten began to filter out four days before the collaboration was confirmed, following a haul A$AP Nast documented on his Instagram Stories. The video captures baseball caps with flora lucky 8-ball motifs, hoodies with green flames crawling up the arms, stonewashed denim jeans and trucker jackets with airbrushed flames, lucky 8-balls, and infinity symbols, a yellow sweater and a host of other pieces we can't quite make out.

Nast tagged both Stüssy and Dries Van Noten in the video, confirming the legitimacy of the collaboration.

At this stage no release date is known, but we imagine both parties will drop the collection on their respective websites in the coming weeks. Watch this space.
