Dior FW 21 show is here and you’re invited

Dior Show FW 21

The long anticipated Dior FW 21 show is here and you're invited.

Which was once a members-only opportunity, it's amazing to think we are now living in a time and place where the nets can be cast long and wide and experiences such as Dior's FW 21 fashion presentation can be one that's shared among many.

The show goes live on March 8 worldwide at 2:30pm Parisian time - or 12:30am on March 9 for those of us on the Australian East Coast.

You can countdown the to the show and watch with the live stream below.

Live streaming at 12:30am AEST, the Maison released five teaser videos, all by female illustrators, to keep us thinking and guessing. Leaving us to our wild imagination, is the show revolving around gender? Nature? Divinity? Sexuality? Ambiguity?

Among the artists are SVA student and cartoonist Terry Cherubini, animation director and illustrator Aisha Madu, Argentinian filmmaker and animation director Barbara Cerro, illustrator and author Marion Fayolle and Japanese animator Noriko Okaku. With each and every video featuring the artist's unique and distinctive DNA, each video hints at certain themes in which one can only assume will correlate.

Behind the helms of a woman, we can only expect another beautifully twisted take on femininity and modernity that we have come to expect from current creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri. The first female creative director to take the reigns at the house of Dior, it comes to no surprise that women are celebrated and encouraged with the selection of five diverse women artists to kick start the talk of the show. Debuting in 2016 as creative director of Dior after her time with Fendi, Maria Grazia Chiuri has taken both ready-to-wear and couture and Dior to new in-imaginary heights.

Despite the pandemic and the unfortunate times we are called to live in, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Dior have been nothing but inclusive - once again relentlessly offering us optimism in opening its digital doors and allowing us to be the first to enter the divinatory world of Dior.

Stay inspired, follow us.
