Model and actor Devon Aoki truly was a late 90s/early 2000s It Girl in all its glory, her style the pinnacle of the era. Low rise trousers, butterfly motifs and ample amount of pink clothing, Aoki – whose runway debut came in 1997 – has walked for some the biggest names in the industry including as bride at Chanel, as face of the House at Versace alongside appearances at Balenciaga, Mugler and Comme des Garcons. She was always that girl. 

One of the industry’s most recognisable faces, by the tender age of 16 she was already one f the most in demand faces working with the likes of Jurgen Teller, Ellen von Unwerth and Nick Knight. As an actor, we’ve seen her in 2 Fast 2 Furious – serving up a wealth of iconic looks – Sin City, Dead or Alive and Arrow amongst others. 

A girl with range, a wardrobe of Chanel and a cool girl aesthetic like no other, her style is unmatched. To celebrate her 40th birthday, we look back at some of the most iconic Devon Aoki style moments.
