As more and more countries enter total lockdowns or implement stay-at-home restrictions, our society is experiencing many never before seen challenges. But it is keeping our spirits high to see so many brands, organisations and individuals band together to offer compassion and support.
During these unprecedented times, design house Chanel is standing in solidarity with all those who are staying home or are otherwise affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The designer has announced that it will be presenting an intimate live performance on the evening of April 3 - tonight. You won't need to leave your lounge for this unique experience. The exclusive concert by Belgian singer Angèle will take place on Chanel's Instagram Stories. A special moment to be enjoyed at home.
The concert will stream live from 1pm Parisian time which is 10pm Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time. You're invited to tune in for the perfect Friday night live music experience, but from the comfort of your very own home.
Chanel has also launched other initiatives to provide support and aid during the fallout from COVID-19. The design house announced that it will be producing surgical masks for medical staff on the front lines in France. There is currently a huge shortage of protective gear for those in the heathcare field. As a result, Chanel has temporarily closed manufacturing in France and will instead use its factories to develop and produce face surgical masks.
“Today we are mobilising our workforce and our partners… to produce protective masks and blouses,” Chanel announced.
Iconic fashion house Chanel announced on Sunday that it will be working on surgical mask prototypes and launch production of masks to support health workers in France where the Coronavirus is spreading quickly throughout the country.
The mask production and distribution is set to start once approved by French authorities.
