‘RUSSH’ spent an evening among the city’s slickest to celebrate the CELINE store reopening

On Wednesday, when everyone was settling for a night in, the city's slickest went out instead. The destination? A club, or a humming new restaurant, perhaps? Try Westfield Sydney. It might not seem like the sort of place one would roll into, but it's easy to be lured to the centre of luxury shopping. Especially when up on level 4, where CELINE reopened and unveiled its latest store concept – a 290 sqm space where menswear has room to shine, just as much as the women's collection.

The store itself is a microcosm of Hedi Slimane's well-documented tastes, with concrete floors, marble elements, and natural stone present throughout. Polished steel mirrors reflected an intimate ensemble of the city's coolest faces. Model Blake Sutherland, who you may know from his TikTok handle @blakeislively, could be spotted by that mop of brown curls, and Phoebe Combes was the one with red ribbons looped around her pigtails.

Elsewhere in the room Jarvis Aivali, Sarah Ellen and Bridget Hollitt gathered, joined by CELINE HOMME SS23 model Tom Hearn, Linnea Stevens-Jones, Aidan Ouma Machio and others. Slinking around the vintage furniture – hand-selected by Slimane himself – drinking Ruinart and sharing secrets was a must. And between sips of negroni, the guested could be seen perusing the CELINE HOMME collection or spritzing Nightclubbing, a CELINE Haute Parfumerie fragrance that was the clear favourite of the night.

There were dress-ups too, who wasn't enamoured by that tinsel sweater? And the Matelassé Monochrome enjoyed a moment on everyone's arm throughout the night. Equipped with a camera, Blake Sutherland was there to catch it all, sharing his snaps with RUSSH. Beneath all the leather, cowboy boots and eyeliner, below find the most memorable moments from the night.

You can explore the newly reopened CELINE boutique at Level 4, Westfield Sydney in the Sydney CBD.
