We're probably past the stage of commenting #mood on someone's Instagram post. But I don't know anyone who wouldn't relate to the following list: paparazzi shots of a barefoot Keanu Reeves looking haggard and defeated, a leathery Italian woman soaking up the sun with a full face of makeup, any quote from Sex and the City and maybe, a tween-age Timothée Chalamet in ballet slippers and tights. Welcome to the world of Instagram mood accounts, you're probably following a bunch without totally realising it and here's a few more to add to the pile.

There's no hard and fast rule of what defines a mood account on Instagram. Niche's vary from the prolific film still to tongue-in-cheek posts unearthed from the Getty Images archive – watermark wholly intended and included. Some Admin's track a decade, while the widely popular account Velvet Coke deals in nostalgia; be it music videos, viral moments in pop culture before going viral was ever a thing, and the notoriously cringe 'hard to watch' list replete with movies scenes and interviews that will make your skin crawl.

Further down the list you might encounter mood accounts curated by star sign. I encourage you to seek out your own, because these – like dreams, are only entertaining to the people directly involved.
