We’ll be taking a leaf out of Dolly Parton’s new book about style

Dolly Parton is the greatest unifier. Across music, across cultures, across political lines (if you need convincing, listen to Dolly Parton's America). And in her latest book, we're about to see this power merge all four corners of the fashion world too.

Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones serves as a style memoir scripted by the musician herself, with more than 450 photographs curated by Rebecca Seaver that chart Dolly Parton's life through clothes from her early days singing alongside Porter Wagoner, blonde bouffant in full form, to those halcyon times of rhinestones costumes, long sleeves, mullets and Playboy bunny suits.

"It is my hope that you will enjoy a look at my life in costume and hair," Parton said over Instagram, "and get to know some of the wonderful people that have helped shape my life and look".

Written in tandem with journalist Holly George-Warren, who authored Janis Joplin and Alex Chilton's biographies, the coffee table book comes after Parton released, Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, back in 2020 with music journalist Robert K. Oermann. The New York Times bestseller told the story of Parton's life through her song lyrics, and the forthcoming book follows a similar vision.

It's evident that the country singer-songwriter has had her head to the desk. Last year she joined forces with prolific American author James Patterson for a thriller novel titled Run Rose Run which follows a young singer-songwriter determined to make it in Nashville.

In any case, if you're looking to secure a hardcover copy of the pink and bedazzled Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones by Dolly Parton, the book will land on shelves on October 17. In the meantime, you can pre-order a copy of the style memoir through this link
