Beauty on the run with florist and set designer Christelle Scifo

What do you get if you combine a certain French je ne sais quoi with Australian effortlessness? Christelle Scifo has both graced and contributed to the pages of RUSSH. But here she lets us in on the products she swears by, her signature red and the fine balance of a fresh manicure and working hands.

What is your morning beauty routine?
Warm water with lemon, a Pilates or ballet class and an ocean swim - if not off very early to the flower markets or on a shoot then a long black or espresso is needed. I have oily, olive skin from my father’s strong French-Italian genes so my three step cleanse, tone and Dermalogica Solar Defence booster SPF50 in my Moisturiser are my non-negotiables. I add and mix it up with Barbara Sturm drops and face mist and Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia cream under my makeup. I always work between an edit of my favourite Hourglass, Bare Minerals and Chanel makeup (Les Beiges Water-Fresh tint, Palette Essentielle, Original SPF15 powder, Baume Essentiel, Caution Extreme mascara, brow pencil, lip to cheek tint for blush) and Chanel fragrance – all usually applied on the go or in the car.

What is your night beauty routine?
Herbal tea after a red wine at dinner, dry body brush, Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution to remove my makeup, cleanse with Dermalogica Special Cleansing gel, exfoliate with Biologique Recherche Lotion P50, tone with Environ Toner Forte, Drunk Elephant Vitamin C and B serums and moisturise with Dr Spiller Hydro Collagen cream. This Stuff Works Pillow spray and Lavender roll on to help totally switch off at night. I’ve started trying out a Tatcha lip mask every now and then too as more and more I’m wearing lipsticks and tinted balms that can tend to dry them. A classic Chanel Rouge Allure red lip on an evening out is my signature.

What is the supermarket / drug store/ chemist beauty product(s) that you use and love?
Klorane Gentle dry shampoo with Oat Milk, Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution, Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil, Weleda Skin Food and Marvis toothpaste.

What is your main form of beauty body maintenance? What products do you use on your body?
Leif and Aesop products in the shower, David Mallet and Olaplex for my hair. Body scrubs, dry brushing, Buly and Nuxe oils and mineral salts in the bath, Buly body milk and loads of Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré moisturiser. Chanel Fragrance, a nail file (for my flowered hands), Weleda Skin food and Chanel hand cream always in my bag.

How do you keep fit/ healthy? Does exercise form a large part of your routine?
Reformer Pilates 2-3 times a week when time permits, a ballet or contemporary dance class a week as an indulgence, and the beauty of living by the sea ocean swims and walking daily.

What cosmetic procedures/ professional treatments to you have as part of your beauty routine?
A facial every 4-6 weeks, steam and extractions with LED light treatment and natural peels. And a hair appointment at David Mallet for a trim and treatment when I’m in Paris once or twice a year. Mani / pedis every two weeks or so with Chanel Vernis in classic red, burgundy or blush tones depending on the season and the city I’m in.

What do you do when your body needs to recover?
Learning to stop, ocean swims, a sauna and extra sleep.

You’re tired / hungover / rundown: what is your beauty hack?
Stretching, deep cleansing clay and hydrating face masks such as Omorovicza and Summer Fridays. Full body massages, classical music and a book, tea and / or a glass of red wine to unwind.

What is the one non-negotiable in your beauty routine?
My three step; cleanse, tone and moisturiser twice daily and regular facials with my dermatologist.

Do you have a beauty icon? Who are they and why?
