Balenciaga releases Year of the Tiger collection with a wholesome campaign

Balenciaga Year of the Tiger

The Lunar New Year is fast approaching as we speed through the month of January, and this year it is in celebration of the Year of the Tiger, representing strength and bravery. Balenciaga is along for the celebratory ride, with a tiger-themed capsule to ring in the Lunar New Year.

Comprised of 57 pieces, the collection merges bright pops of orange alongside grounding blacks and whites, with tiger print patterns and Balenciaga's signature branding woven throughout. In the campaign, models pose in a homely setting, interacting with each other as though they are family in poses that serve as optical illusions; forcing the viewer to do a double-take of the expertly lensed images by Chris Maggio.

In the tiger print, fluffy slides are offered alongside fleece jackets, cropped sweaters, button down shirts, oversized dresses, and a mini hourglass handbag.

The same orange is applied to a limited edition XS Le Cagole, alongside a small Gossip Bag, and is seen again on plain, branded t-shirts and in the detailing on footwear such as boot laces and sneaker soles.

Balenciaga's signature tracksuits are offered alongside monochrome and orange logomania two-piece sets, caps, beanies, and more, which are accompanied by newer silhouettes like a Y2K style low rise denim mini skirt and a padded denim jacket with tiger print fleece lining.

For the footwear offering, the Runner sneakers are updated in an orange, black and white colour way, while the Blade 90mm boots and lug-soled Master 20mm boots allow the wearer the confidence of the tiger's energy.

The Balenciaga Year of the Tiger collection is available to purchase from the Balenciaga website, now.
