And Just Like That… there’s a trailer for the SATC season 2 spinoff

and just like that season two

And just like that… we’re getting a second season of the Sex and the City spin off that sparked a thousand opinions. In what was a truly chaotic offering from the three remaining main characters – those who hadn’t flown off to London after a feud with Carrie – we are intrigued to see what a season two will bring.

Executive producer Michael Patrick King said he was keen to tell more stories about the original characters and those introduced in the spin off.

“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters – played by these powerful, amazing actors,” said Patrick King in a statement “The fact is, we’re thrilled. And just like that… our sex life is back.”

HBO Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey echoed the statement, saying they were pleased with the conversations And Just Like That… had generated.

“We have been delighted by the cultural conversation generated by these characters and their stories, set in a world we already know and love so much,” Aubrey said in a statement. “We are proud of the work Michael Patrick King and our wonderful writers, producers, cast and crew have done to bring these stories to the screen. We can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store for season two!"

Who has been cast in And Just Like That… season two?

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are all set to return in season two alongside freshly established characters like Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), Seema (Sarita Choudhury), and Dr. Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman). David Eigenberg is onboard too, although we only hope it's so that Michael Patrick King can fix the mess he made and give Steve a redemption plotline. Mario Cantone is back too, along with Evan Handler, or how he's now known: BDE Harry.

Given the passing of Willie Garson aka Stanford Blatch, and the allegations levelled at Chris Noth along with the fact that Big died on a Peloton (RIP), neither of these characters will return for season two.

One plot twist we didn't expect is that John Corbett (and his turquoise jewellery) will return to season two of And Just Like That... Either Aidan Shaw has become a masochist in his divorced years, or Carrie Bradshaw loves ruining his life. Whatever one it is, Aidan fans are finally getting their wish while the rest of us groan in our seats. Although, maybe he's back in the picture to comfort Steve? All we know is that Big would be rolling in his grave, but lord knows he deserves it.

How about plot?

Anyone that watched the series, despite all their better judgement, will remember it ended with Charlotte having her own Bat Mitzvah, Carrie mourning Big, and this new unrecognisable and slightly unhinged Miranda flying to Los Angeles to be with her partner Che Diaz. Season two will likely build on this. Hopefully, with more depth and screen time given to the original characters, and less random cameos from characters we quite frankly don't care much about.

When is And Just Like That… season two releasing in Australia?

As the news has been announced only overnight, there are still finer details to be worked out, including an Australian release date. It is likely the series will be streamed on Binge, much like the first season and a slew of other HBO programming.

Is there a trailer?

You bet. Unfortunately, it also includes Aidan. Don't say we didn't warn you.
