Horror fans rejoice. One of the biggest horror franchises of the decade is returning for the threequel – yep, John Krasinski is stepping back into the director’s chair for the highly anticipated A Quiet Place Part III. Here's everything we know so far...
John Krasinski is back to direct
Krasinski will not only direct but also write and produce the film, continuing his deep involvement with the hit horror franchise that he helped launch in 2018. This new instalment will mark his third directorial effort in the Quiet Place saga – while Michael Sarnoski took the reins for 2024’s prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One.
Krasinski confirmed his return to the franchise through an Instagram post:

What will the film be about?
Plot details are currently being kept tightly under wraps, but it’s safe to assume the signature premise remains intact – humans navigating a world overrun by sound-sensitive alien predators, forced to survive in total silence.
We're hopeful for some old faces to return — so who is cast?
Although no casting announcements have been made, fans are wondering whether franchise veterans Emily Blunt (fresh from the Devil Wears Prada sequel), Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds will reprise their roles. However – and this is a SPOILER ALERT – given the narrative events of the previous films, Krasinski’s own return as an on-screen character appears unlikely.
The movie is being produced under his Sunday Night Productions banner, alongside Platinum Dunes, and distributed by Paramount Pictures.
We have a release date
The film's release date has been pushed back slightly, from July 9 to July 30, 2027.
What else is Krasinski up to?
Known for his breakout role as Jim Halpert on NBC’s The Office, as well as his lead performance in Amazon’s Jack Ryan series, Krasinski had his big directing break with the first two A Quiet Place films. But outside the horror genre, Krasinski recently directed IF, a family fantasy film for Paramount. Most recently, he co-starred with Natalie Portman in Apple’s Fountain of Youth.
