Searching for equilibrium. Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei, British sculptor, installation artist and filmmaker Oliver Beer and Australian archaeological ceramicist Yasmin Smith have been announced to take part in the 21st Sydney Biennale. Artistic director Mami Kataoka – Tokyo-based chief curator at the Mori Art Museum – says the exhibition, celebrating it’s 45th anniversary in 2018, won’t focus on a specific theme, but will rather explore the multi-layer perspectives and histories of the world. The 21st Biennale of Sydney will run from March 16 to June 11, 2018.
