Winter coats and jackets to covet this season

Winter may have some of us feeling miserable but the certain magic that is felt right when the seasons start to shift isn't something one can deny.  At RUSSH, we are embracing the cooler change and here are some of the outerwear that has us inspired.

The Banker's Coat

From left to right: Friends with Frank; Après Studio; JW Anderson; Witchery.

The Bankers Coat feels equal parts masculine and classic, featuring broad shoulders and wide lapels – a silhouette popularised by 80s and 90s New York bankers. This season, we're loving the Thomas Coat from Friends with Frank, the Charcoal Wool Trench Coat from Après Studio, Witchery's Classic Wool Blend Double Breasted Coat and JW Anderson's Button-Up Longline Coat.

The Leather Jacket

From left to right: Reformation; Acne Studio; Chloé; Nanushka.

Whether it's a classic bomber or a trench, a leather jacket is always where I will land. We're currently coveting Acne Studios' Black Leather Jacket, Reformation's Veda Bowery Leather Blazer, Chloé's Leather Biker Jacket, and Nanushka's Verona Faux Shearling Jacket.

The Trench Coat

From left to right: Camilla and Marc; Venroy; Bianca Spender; Burberry.

A trench coat is always a classic and a winter favourite for everyone. To you they may look the same, but if you ever looked closer, you'll find with a good trench, it's always the small details that count. We're loving on the Bianca Spender Khaki Cotton Twill Henri Trench, the Venroy Classic Cotton Trench Coat in Sand, Camilla and Marc's Acer Trench Coat in Army Green and, of course, the Burberry Long Waterloo Heritage Trench Coat.

The Blazer

Clockwise from bottom left: Maggie Marilyn; Frankie Shop; Tommy Hilfiger; Jacquemus.

The blazer always provides much needed comfort, its versatility being in its ability to dress you up or dress you down. Key favourites include the Maggie Marilyn Oh Crop Bolero in Panna Cotta, Frankie Shop Demi Blazer in Black, Tommy Hilfiger Chino Single Breasted Blazer, and Jacquemus Woven Blazer.

The Puffer

From left to right: North Face; Scanlan Theodore; Venroy; Max Mara.

The Yuppie uniform is a lesson in fashionable pragmatism – not only do these bad boys keep you toasty, but they're lightweight and water resistant, so they're pretty hard to have beat. No longer just for the campers and Em Rata, we're crushing on the Scanlan Theodore Puffer Jacket, Venroy's Nylon Puffer Jacket, Max Mara's Seipino Hooded Quilted Shell Down Jacket, and the effervescently classic North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket.
