Let's face it: there's (still) nothing quite like leopard print for teasing your very own inner minx out of retirement. Once a mainstay of the 80s and 90s, the print has stuck around for decades, earning a cult fashionable following in the process.

While prints of any kind aren't typically considered neutral, when it comes to leopard print, we'd argue against this way of thinking. There's something about the brownish-gold hues of a great leopard print piece that compliment just about any outfit formula. Of course, leopard print itself is not new. Fashionable it girls and designers alike have long campaigned for the trend, from Tom Ford's late 90s reign at Gucci, to Kate Moss and Gwyneth Paltrow's enviable wardrobes of the same era. Fast forward to the late 200s and early 2010s, and leopard print became a marker of the indie sleaze movement, frequently cropping up in the festival-ready ensembles of the likes of Sienna Miller and Alexa Chung. Then, in early 2024, we coaxed leopard print out of the archives once again, as the internet grew tired of stealth wealth, and made a case for loud luxury via the mob wife movement.

And in 2025, leopard print is showing no signs of going anywhere, and recent runways have only proven its sustained relevance. Elie Saab sent Stella Maxwell down the runway in a jewel-encrusted leopard print gown for its Fall Winter 2025 collection. Then, leopard print took on an elegant 'mob wife'-esque persona at Saint Laurent's Fall Winter 2025 show, before taking a bohemian turn for Zimmermann that same season, and later becoming a prominent feature on Kenzo's Spring Summer 2026 runway.
