You want to know what women really want? I'll tell you. The latest New Balance X Miu Miu 530 collaboration, that's what. Forget reusable razors or proper pockets (although, closing the wage gap and reproductive rights would be nice). Miuccia Prada and the brains behind New Balance have delivered the perfect streamlined sneaker – and I won't hear a word otherwise.
Off the back of their initial collaboration, which reimagined the classic New Balance 574, the pair will revive the 530, a 90s sneaker designed with performance in mind. It's a refreshing choice, given that many of the latest collaborations with New Balance have opted to make over popular and chunky styles like the 550 or 990 V6.

In the latest collaboration, the 530 sneaker will arrive in three colourways: a sandy raw suede, a warm toffee-coloured suede, and a mesh black and white option redolent of cheerleading shoes. But where the original 530 has a thick sole, in this instance they've updated it and shaved down the sole to resemble running spikes, which is how it fetches the name 530 SL – meaning Super Light. Take this as further confirmation that the dad shoe is out and dainty sneakers are trending in 2024.
The laces are where New Balance X Miu Miu 530 gets playful, with a combination of leather cord, vibrant green, blue, orange, and yellow rope, as well as simple flat white laces fed through the eyelets.
It's safe to say that the New Balance X Miu Miu 530 has taken the cake for our favourite designer sneaker collaboration in 2024. Up there with the Bode x Nike AstroGrabber, the Puma x Coperni 90SQR, and perhaps even the Heaven x Kiko Kostadinov x Asics Gel-Lokros.
