
September in Australia marks the first official days of spring — the air's a little warmer, the days a little longer, and the urge to hibernate is starting to lift. Martha's Bakehouse is now open in Wareemba, serving up delicious Mediterranean-inspired treats, and great coffee.
Opera Bar, one of Australia’s most iconic bars, has officially reopened under a 10-year stewardship with Applejack. Expect delicious new menus, live music seven-nights per week, and refreshed spaces.
The Ace Hotel has launched Sunday Arvos, a chef series with Isobel Whelan-Little and friends from around Sydney cooking their take on pizza on the brand-new Gozney Dome XL Gen 2 pizza oven. It will take place from 3pm - 7pm every few Sundays, beginning October 5.
Love, Tilly Devine’s next Tilly Takeover is slated for September 24th, and will showcase a selection of wines from vineyards across Lebanon, presented by Nicole Burfitt-Williams of Vins du Liban, with a special mezze plate on the menu for one night only. Bookings available here.

Ragazzi Wine + Pasta has announced the next in its quarterly Ragazzi Avventura series, a celebration of regional Italian food and wine. The lunch on Sunday 14 September, will feature classic Tuscan dishes, and wines to match. Bookings are available here.
Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf has announced the finalists for the 2025 Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, Australia’s most prestigious award for small-scale sculpture. The finalists' works will be on display from 26 September to 16 November, with the winners announced at the official opening on 25 September. Entry to the exhibition is free.
Sydney Theatre Company will present a reimagined production of The Taming of the Shrew, from 26 September – 15 October. Tickets are available here.

Brisbane Festival kicks off on 5 September, for 23 days of performance, public art installations, and events across the city. This year is the biggest program yet, with 106 productions, 1,069 performances, 2,260 artists, and 21 world premieres. Plan your visit here.
Afterglow, a world-premiere fire-and-light trail, will transform Brisbane’s City Botanic Gardens as part of Brisbane Festival. The immersive experience will take place from 5 – 27 September. More information and tickets are available here.
