W Hotels and Cub Sport are teaming up for Mardi Gras

Get on your dancing shoes as W Hotels have teamed up with Australian band Cub Sport in celebration of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. The Brisbane group will join W Hotels for a year to remember, embracing time spent together after pandemic-induced separation kept face-to-face connections at bay.

W Hotels and Cub Sport are set to join thousands of revellers at Mardi Gras for Sydney’s most fabulous night of celebrations, with the W Hotels float marching alongside more than 150 electric floats and hosting a range of talent from the LGBTQIA+ community. This includes a collective of dancers, choreographed by New Ground Collective.

“A big part of the creative vision around Cub Sport is celebrating queer love and self-expression,” said Cub Sport. “We believe that anybody who shows up in the world as their authentic self is empowering others to do the same. W Hotels share our thoughts around inclusivity and creating spaces where people of all different walks of life feel celebrated.”

Mardi Gras is only the start for this creative pairing, as the partnership continues with an electric performance at W Melbourne as part of World Pride Month in June. With W Hotels a major partner of Sydney’s Mardi Gras, W Brisbane will also ignite at WET Deck for the W Brisbane x ENN Mardi Gras Recovery Pool Party.

As WorldPride comes to Sydney for the first time in 2023, joining forces with Mardi Gras for the first time W Hotels will continue to be a major partner of the event aptly timed for the opening of the first W Sydney in late 2022. The flagship location will be the largest hotel in the W brand globally.

Marriott Bonvoy are offering exclusive Mardi Gras packages for the event, which are ready for purchase, alongside tickets to the W Brisbane x ENN Mardi Gras Pool Party.
