“I am the Medusa” – Versace launches female-led series ‘Medusa Power Talks’ on Clubhouse

Versace Medusa Power Talks

Over the last year, we've become accustomed to many of our favourite designer brands venturing into the world of podcasts and panel discussions. Earlier this year, fashion House Chanel launched its very own podcast series, Chanel Connects; while Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada have made post-show Q&A's part of Prada's runway DNA. In 2021, fashion, technology and social media are inextricably linked. So, it came to no surprise to hear that Versace is also joining the lineup; announcing the luxury label's latest project, Medusa Power Talks.

The project is a female-led series that aims to highlight the role of power in contemporary times; taking inspiration from the Italian fashion Houses' signature motif. Medusa Power Talks will represent a space where woman's authority and female empowerment are celebrated unapologetically.

“The archetype of a powerful person has changed forever. For me, to be powerful is above all, the freedom to express yourself as you are, without any fear. Power plays many roles in our everyday lives. With my amazing panel of friends, Medusa Power Talks will discuss, examine and no doubt argue, about what it means for us all to be powerful in 2021. I am passionate about offering a platform to voices that represent the future I want to see, and I can’t wait to hear their stories," shared Donatella Versace in a statement.

Versace took to Instagram to share the news of Medusa Power Talks, releasing a series of pre-recorded interviews; starring models Irina Shayk and Precious Lee photographer Lucka Ngo actress Indya Moore, and activists Chelsea Miller and Nialah Edari. These preliminary clips show Versace muses sharing their thoughts on the notion of power, with the full videos set to be released on the Houses' social media platforms over the coming weeks.
