The old is new again. Japan-based Australian furniture and interior design practice Studio Liam Mugavin presents its first solo exhibition, Unconfined by Convention, at Criteria in Melbourne. The exhibition features a collection of works from the studio that explore cultural and design narratives referencing the home, domesticity and traditional Japanese aesthetics. Each piece from the open edition is crafted from reclaimed Douglas Fir timber, salvaged from heritage homes across Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Unconfined by Convention opens May 10 and will be exhibiting through until June 11.
