Three smoothies to wake up to tomorrow

Starting the day with a nourishing smoothie feels like a ticket to summer, doesn’t it? In the recipe series this week, I’ve integrated a few additions to step up your smoothie and nutrition game. Ingredients that help reduce inflammation, improve clarity and cognition, and support the healthy production of hormones in the body too: turmeric, matcha and maca.

Mango Turmeric Smoothie
Serves 1
GF : DF : SF : V

Ingredients

1 mango cheek
300ml coconut or almond milk
Pinch ground turmeric powder
Dash of vanilla extract or pinch of vanilla powder
2 teaspoons cashew butter
Opt: vanilla or natural plant based protein powder

Method

Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz until creamy and golden.

Matcha Kiwi Lime Smoothie
Serves 1
GF : DF : SF : V

Ingredients

1 kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
Juice of half a lime
1/2 green apple
1 cup baby spinach
1 teaspoon matcha powder
Handful mint leaves
300ml coconut water
Opt: natural or vanilla plant based protein

Method

Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz until beautiful and green.

Caramel Coconut Spice Smoothie

Serves 1
GF : DF : SF : V

Ingredients

300ml coconut or almond milk
1/2 frozen banana
1 medjool date, pitted
1 teaspoon maca powder (optional)
Pinch sea salt
Pinch ground cardamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch ground ginger
2 teaspoons almond butter
Opt: natural or vanilla plant based protein

Method

Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz until creamy.
