And when we heard the cast consisted of Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone, Kenneth Branagh, Michael B Jordan, and Taylor Russell, our excitement really went into overdrive. Now, however, new reports have emerged that indicate Russell's involvement is no longer. According to Deadline, the actress exited the project due to creative differences, and her role is now being recast in London.

In case you haven't seen the original 1968 version, or the 1999 remake (starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo, no less), allow us to catch you up. The Thomas Crown Affair is an American heist film which follows the titular Thomas Crown, a millionaire who seemingly has everything in life. But with nothing left to aspire to, he begins stealing artworks for the sheer thrill of it, culminating in his orchestrating of a massive five-man heist. But a switched on investigator soon catches on to his plan, and the pair quickly become entangled.
Who is involved in the latest reboot?
Details around casting are so far fairly scant. We do know, however, that Michael B. Jordan will play the titular Thomas Crown, while Taylor Russell was originally cast as a private detective. Of course, this role is now up for grabs.
It's not clear yet which character Gladstone will play, and Branagh's character's details are also being kept under wraps.
