A new A24 series is on the way and it’s set on the backdrop of a home improvement reality show

the curse

Hello, happy Wednesday – another A24 production is on the way! This time, the production company (along with Showtime) is making our onscreen dreams come true; uniting Emma Stone, Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie for the upcoming dark-comedy adjacent series, The Curse. What did we do to deserve this? It must've been our ongoing tolerance for The Idol... But nonetheless we are grateful.

The series was first announced in 2020, and has since been on a small hiatus while Fielder's attention turned to other projects like his HBO series, The Rehearsal (which, now has a second series in the works if you happen to be a fan). Now, after what feels like a lifetime of waiting, A24 and Showtime have finally given us our first official look at the series, releasing photos of Stone and Fielder on set for the series.

So, what is The Curse about?

The Curse, which has been described as a "genre-bending series", follows a newly-married couple and the alleged curse that is disrupting their family as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show. It's about as A24 thematically as it gets, if you ask us.

The series will also feature Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi, Emmy nominee Corbin Bernsen, and Constance Shulman. As expected, the lineup behind the scenes is nothing short of A-class, with the series co-created, executive produced and written by Benny Safdie and Nathan Fielder, with Fielder also serving as a director.

Do we have a release date yet?

Thankfully, the good news is that we actually do have a release date for The Curse. The series will premiere internationally on Paramount+ on November 10 in Canada and on November 11 in the UK, Australia, Latin America, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

So, will you be watching? Stay tuned for more details and updates to come on the upcoming series.
