Teischa’s travel guide to Exmouth in Western Australia

A Western Australian escape.

Before the release and wild success of her latest single Doubt, Australian artist Teischa took a quiet trip up to Exmouth, Western Australia. It's a small town far North of Perth on one of the most Westerly points in the country. Here on this little peninsula, life is slower, the water is crystal and the sunsets are golden.

Teischa shares with us the postcards from her trip, her favourite spots and travel bag must-haves.

Tell us a little about Exmouth?

Exmouth has always held a special little place in my heart. i was born in Fremantle but actually spent the first couple years of my life a 13-hour-drive up the coast, in exmouth. my parents ran a whaleshark tour business together, so from only a couple weeks old i was out bobbing on the boat with them while they searched for big fish to swim with.

Where did you stay? Do you have a favourite hotel or property?

In my swag at a secret camp spot that I can’t give you all the details on because i want to keep it to myself for as long as possible without anyone else discovering it hehe. I can guarantee it’s the most peaceful place in the world though!

What was your favourite moment from the trip?

Sitting on the sand-dunes one night watching probably one of the top 3 sunsets i’ve ever seen in my life. whales were breaching right in front of us, and turtles were popping their heads up to catch a glance. there’s so much life out there in the water it’s incredible.

What sights were on your must-do list?

Turquoise bay. It’s the classic number one spot for a mind-blowing snorkel and it really lived up to all expectations.

What are your favourite things to do on holiday?

Finding good food, turning my phone off (easy to do in exmouth as there’s not much reception), and starting the day with finding the best location for scenic weetbix.

What’s your perfect travel outfit?

If it’s a little chilly i’m normally a full trackies kinda travel girl but it was HOT so just bikinis everyday

What three things will you always have in your bag when you travel?

Headphones, multiple pairs of sunglasses because those things seems to disappear into thin air sometimes, and paw paw!

What’s your favourite kind of holiday? Sun and sand or snow and skis?

Sun and sand all the way! I grew up in the tropics in Thailand so I don’t handle anything under 20 degrees very well.

What is your favourite travel read?

The back label of a local beer ha.

What are your travel beauty bag essentials?

Sunscreen, face wipes and coconut oil for salty hair.

What spot is next on your holiday list?

Rottnest Island next week for another beach getaway.
