Yes, there is a hot vax summer on the horizon. And of course, we'll be hurtling into it like it's nobodies business. One entity there to hold our hand and dive into party season with us is the newly announced Festival, Summer Camp. Because we'll never say no to fresh opportunities to show a little skin, listen to live music and squeeze our closest pals.
Dreamt up by the creator of Heaps Gay, Kat Dopper, and Grant Gillies and David Gillett, former Sydney Mardi Gras Marketing and Internationals Talent Managers, the festival has been penned as a 'summer camp' for adults - emphasis on the camp. For all our queer and gender diverse hotties, this one's for you. It's intended to be a space where everyone is welcome, regardless of the unique intersection you come from.
The inaugural Summer Camp Fest aims to celebrate the richness of Australian music. Think The Veronicas, Cub Sport and Confidence Man. As well as a heady lineup of music across two stages, the festival will also include dance, performance art, art installations and of course, various food and drink options to soak up all the fun with.
“After 2 years of cancelled parties, loose event calendars and empty dance floors, I couldn’t be more excited for Summer Camp Festival which will bring together some of my favourite parts of queer culture for massive one-day parties in four cities," said Dopper.
