Fashion muse and British It-Girl Sienna Miller is making her long-awaited return to television in a leading role, starring in the upcoming HBO and Sky legal thriller War. For fans of the acclaimed actress, it marks a welcome reappearance in a leading role after only getting peeps of her in shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and in 2022's Anatomy of a Scandal.
What do we know so far about the show?
Created by George Kay (Hijack, Lupin), War dives into London’s elite legal world, opening with a scandalous divorce case that quickly escalates into a battle of reputations and rivalries. Miller takes on the role of Carla Duval, an international film star entangled in a high-stakes separation from her estranged husband, tech magnate Morgan Henderson, played by The Crown’s Dominic West.
But this isn’t Miller’s first collaboration with West – the two previously shared the stage in a 2005 production of As You Like It and have appeared together in Burberry campaigns. Their reunion adds another layer of intrigue to the series, promising chemistry and dramatic tension as their characters square off in court and beyond.
What's Miller been up to lately?
For Miller, War represents a homecoming to the kind of layered, emotionally charged characters that have defined her career. She has previously drawn critical praise for her performances in projects such as Anatomy of a Scandal, American Woman, and Factory Girl, consistently delivering portrayals that balance vulnerability with strength.
Who else is in the cast?
With its ensemble cast, including Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, and Nina Sosanya, and direction by Ben Taylor (Catastrophe), War looks set to deliver the kind of prestige drama audiences expect from HBO and Sky.
When will it be released?
