RUSSH Loves: beauty favourites from September

September is always a big month for beauty newness. Here are fresh launches and cult heroes that need to be on your radar this month.

Rouge Dior Natural Balms

Dior Beauty has reimagined its Rouge Dior Balms into a new 95% natural ingredients formulation. According to the brand they've been proven to provide lips with 24 hours of hydration. They come in clear or lightly pigmented in soft pink hues - whatever colour you prefer these are luxe handbag staple.

Rationale #1 The Hydragel

This innovative product warranted its own full product review, so you can read more about the specifics of why #1 The Hydragel is so good here. But in short, it's a hydrating and balancing serum for hot weather and oily skin types.

Chanel Le Lift Fluide

A fluid designed to help firm skin and reduce shine. Wear it under a heavier moisturisers or on its own if you prefer. This is an ideal product to wear under makeup to help it last, while promoting skin health.

Vida Glow Radiance Capsules

Did you know that you can treat pigmentation, dark spots and discolouration with ingestible? Introducing Vida Glow's new product, a capsule designed to treat the radiance of the skin from the inside out.

Aesop Parsley Seed Intense Serum

Aesop has created a new version of its Parsley Seed serum. This one is designed for metropolitan life and those of us who are more susceptible to oxidative stress. Weightless but potent, this antioxidant protection for all skin types.

Trvdon Mary Candle

Inspired by Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, Trudon's latest creation Mary is a strange but wood scent. It's layered smell tells a story perfect for spooky season burning.

Liberty Belle Bromance

If you know someone who prefers a 3-in-1 formulation, here's one that has actually been designed with skin health in mind. Created by Dr Chris Moss, this face, scalp and hair cleanser has vitamin E and vitamin B5 for skin and hair resilience.

Naked Sundays Body Mist Sunscreen

Sunscreen sprays are almost always a winner for me. But the glowy finish of this formulation makes it a delight to wear. Its the type of product you'd happily spritz on your limbs before a day in the sun.

La Prairie Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil

If skincare is a luxurious ritual to you, then La Prarie's Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil is a product you'll want on your beauty tray. This retinol product is designed to smooth, refine and repair. It's the ultimate anti-ageing product for the luxury connoisseur.

Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser

French pharmacy beauty is always a favourite, especially for those with sensitive skin. This formulation is perfect for those with irritable complexions or when you just need to give your skin a break from active ingredients.

Tarte Juicy Tartelette clay palette

Tarte eyeshadows are beautifully pigmented and easily blended. This palette is a favourite owing to its compact size while still containing every hue you'd need to great the perfect soft or smokey eye.

Clarins Tonic Bath and Shower Concentrate

I'm always looking for in-shower products that nourishes your skin instead of leaving you with dry skin after. This refreshing tonic cleanses without stripping and the fresh summery smell is perfect for the warm months.

It Cosmetics Waterproof Concealer

Good concealers are hard to find. Either they move around too much or they dry and crack. This iteration straddles a happy medium, providing coverage that is comfortable and still looks good at the end of the day.

L'Occitane Concentre De Lait Almond Milk Concentrate

This is both deeply nourishing but also light enough to wear even in the warmer weather. It soaks straight in and doesn't leave you with a greasy feeling. Plus, the subtle scent is delightfully comforting.

Glo Skin Beauty Resurface and Smooth Retinol + C Smoothing Peel

This step-by-step guide offers a chemical-peel like experience at home. There is an AHA iteration too, but I loved this retinol + C smoothing version.

Esmi Retinol R0.25% Level 1

What I love about this retinol product - and about the brand in general - is the transparency in percentages. Retinol can sensitise skin, especially if you haven't used it before. So, if you're a first-timer or just have sensitive skin, it's important to start on a lower percentage and slowly work up to 1% or 2% once your skin is used to it. Esmi has a guide on how to use and how often to use, plus stronger formulas to work up to. A great place to start if you're wanting to add retinol to your routine.

Biologique Recherche u-Fill PIGM 400

Anti-pigmentation products are a grey area for me. Many products that promise to fade dark spots and brighten actually end up lightening your entire complexion. As someone with a darker skin tone, this isn't ideal. I like the colour of my skin and I'm not interested in changing it. Enter a new innovation from Biologique Recherche, micro needle patches that allow you to target pigmentation and dark spot. The technology in these formulations allows them to specifically target dark spots without lightening the rest of the skin around the blemish. C'est parfait!

Jurlique Exclusive Edition Rosewater Balancing Mist Five Roses

Rose is favourite botanical of many skincare formulators for a reason. It can increase the hydration of the skin but also rosewater has a pH that is very similar to that of our skin, meaning it can help to balance our skin if its barrier becomes disrupted. Jurlique's regular rosewater mist lives perpetually on my beauty tray, but this limited edition has now taken its place. This one is made from a blend of five different kinds of rose. It smells intoxicating and leaves you feeling light and fresh.

SkinCeuticals Tripeptide-R Neck Retinol

Your neck is one of the first places that shows the signs of ageing and skin health. And since our wfh set-ups over the last year haven't always been ergonomically designed, our neck - both muscles and skin - has felt the impact. This repair treatment is formulated to mitigate the impact of neck crease, lines and collagen loss.

Carrière Frères Eloysia Cirodora

This citrusy scent breathes life into any space. It's a such a treat on a warm evening.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Blush

I've hardly met a cream blush I didn't love. But this one in particular blends in like a dream, and becomes part of your own skin. The peachy keen shades is perfect for a sunkissed glow.
