Chad Michael Murray, the choicest of bedroom posters and the prince of noughties television dramas à la Gilmore Girls, Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill and most importantly...A Cinderella Story, has once again manage to set us all on edge. This time it's all because of a comment he made hinting that a One Tree Hill reboot could be on the horizon.
In an interview with TV Fanatic the actor said, "I believe at some point, I'm sure there will be some new iteration of One Tree Hill...I've always heard things over the years, but nothing ever came to fruition." Could it be? A return to the angst-filled town of Tree Hill?
"But I think it would have to be taken under new guidance and let out into the world", he continued. We have no qualms there. Which has us wondering, what would a 2021 OTH cast look like? Could we expect cameos from Sophia Bush or James Lafferty? Or a completely new generation of lusty, troubled teens.
A One Tree Hill reboot would be the crown jewel to the line-up of TV series currently being revived like Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. Are we obsessed with nostalgia? Maybe. But I won't say no to an easy-to-get rush of endorphins.
I know, it's not a concrete go-ahead. But until there's official confirmation otherwise, I'll be over here clinging onto the hope that one day, I'll hear the nasal voice of Gavin DeGraw again and exhale for the first time in nine years.
In the meantime, if you're still looking to fill the void that never healed from OTH departing our screens, check out 'Drama Queens'. The podcast is hosted by none other than Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton. Every week they dissect a new episode of the show which is, honestly, a gold mine for any fan.
