A photo of Malia Obama has been doing the rounds on Instagram this week, and while we don't endorse the smoking, we do appreciate the overall mood, and fashion, dare I say, slay. What's become clear to us all, is that the Obama sisters are all grown up. While neither Malia or Sasha have any public social media accounts (chic), preferring to keep a low profile, it's clear that the former first daughters are busy carving out their own paths – especially when it comes to their sense of style. No longer restricted to the modest clothing required for life in The White House, the sisters have fostered their own individual tastes. Malia, the preppier of the two, has stepped out in jorts and sweater-vests, tailored trousers and patterned cardigans, while Sasha is popping up on Pinterest boards for her look which fuses Y2K fashion with a bohemian spirit.

Of course, given how private the pair are, we've pieced together this style file from paparazzi shots of the two, which feels redolent of the Olsen twins. Currently, the pair are living together in LA. Malia is pursuing a career as a screenwriter after cutting her teeth in the writer's room on Donald Glover's series Swarm, starring Dominique Fishback and Chloe Bailey. As for Sasha? The youngest Obama has just graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in sociology, and is enjoying that limbo state of free time after exams by reading books by Daniel Quinn in the park, among other things. We love to see it.
