Maison Balzac has launched its July collection, continuing with the theme of The Fruits of the Sea that has peppered its 2022 releases. From ocean platters, sculptural candle holders and considered vases, the home objects brand continues be at the apex of interior styling.
The story behind the collection is simmering, setting a scene envious from the cold temperatures currently engulfing wintertime Australia.
“As the languid afternoon sun stretches long fingers over the land, the Cadaques fishermen are discovering their trove of treasures from the sea,” tells the brand story. “‘Look!’ they say, with a proud sweep of their hand. ‘The ocean has been kind and shared her generous riches in the hopes she could join us for our evening feast!’”
The generous riches be the July collection from Maison Balzac, with highlights including the bubble incense holder, pompom candle holders, the ocean platter and the petit four napkins with their endearing design and colour combinations.
“Now we invite you too, to take a seat and share in our bounty,” continues the story of The Fruits of the Sea. “We have found delicate glassware dappled with jewelled bubbles, bamboo platters shaped by scalloped shorelines and magnificent columns of intertwining marble and wax; all gleefully presented by playful linen napkins who are more than willing to lend a hand."
When we caught up with founder Elise Pioch earlier in the year, she described The Fruits of the Sea as an homage to her childhood spent in the South of France and the influences of the area on her as a person and designer. The pieces released in July from Maison Balzac continue to evoke a sense of European laissez fare, interpolated with playful motifs and colour hues. A range imbued with wanderlust and escapism, each piece is a statement item in itself, primed for display in a home amongst already treasured items.
