Gabrielle Penfold gives us an exclusive first look at the new Lucy Folk x Levi’s collection

We can think of many ways to draw a crowd. But news of a Lucy Folk x Levi's partnership is sure to do the trick. A short distance from the RUSSH office sits Lucy Folk's second store, an amber oasis nestled within the boutiques of Paddington's William Street. It's here that Folk's friends and admirers (the two are interchangeable) gathered for an intimate preview of her nomadic collaboration with the American denim label.

Anna Feller was in attendance, as was Nadia Fairfax and Gabrielle Penfold, all three playing dress-ups and cloaking themselves in Levi's playfully reimagined trucker jacket. Denim sleeves are switched out for cosy organic cotton versions. In true Lucy Folk fashion, a colour palette of Bleu, Mojave and Saffron swathe the arms; a perfectly primed canvas for the white embroidered Utopian alphabet and the Eos key graphics to pop.

Speaking on the collection, Lucy Folk says, "It felt special to rework the Levi’s iconic Trucker and create something very wearable with signature Lucy Folk metal detailing".

"The inspiration came from the symbology of our recent collections and hand-embroidered techniques of the Utopian Alphabet and Eos key graphic. There was an intimacy when creating this piece, so the wearer can have a sensory experience when wearing these pieces. There is also a little western influence with the handmade collar tip. This is probably my favourite element of the jacket," she explained.

Gabrielle Penfold invites us into the Lucy Folk store on this particular Wednesday morning, capturing candid moments of the collection in action. Through the foggy lens of her film camera, we get up close and personal with the trucker jackets; western collar tips and all. Preview the Lucy Folk x Levi's collection in the RUSSH exclusive images below and acquaint yourself with your next must-have wardrobe staple.

The Lucy Folk x Levi’s Trucker Jacket is available in store at Levi’s Emporium and Lucy Folk boutiques in Sydney and Melbourne as well as online from both brands.
