Where to watch ‘Kid Snow’, Phoebe Tonkin’s new film

We're no strangers to Phoebe Tonkin.  We've charted her journey behind and in-front of the screen, and she's graced our pages in CHANEL.  She's also running loungewear brand LESJOUR, if we wanted to add another contender to our long-list of sustainable brands. There's no shortage of Tonkin's work across all veins of creativity, and her newest venture is no different.

Tonkin is returning to the big screen with Kid Snow, a full-brawl boxing epic set in 1970s WA. Living on this side of the world, it's not often that we get our hands on a film first. Lucky for us, this might be our chance. While the official Australian premiere will kick off on the 12th of September, patrons at Sydney Film Festival will be able to access an exclusive screening ahead of time. Below, we compile everything you need to know about the upcoming film.

What is Kid Snow about?

The story of Kid Snow follows the down-and-out slugger who takes one last shot at the title in a travelling boxing tent show. Directed by Paul Goldman, the film is a gritty depiction of 1970s Western Australia, replete with sand, sun, and sweat. Tonkin stars across Billy Howle as a single mother at the penultimate moment of his life: an epic rematch for his dignity and heavyweight title. Come for the swings, stay for the slow-unfurling romance.
