1/7 Beacon’s Closet, Greenpoint @beaconscloset.
“Beacon’s Closet is by far my favourite store in all of the city. Their prices are so good! I go to all of their locations (they have three storefronts) but the one in Greenpoint is my favourite, the staff there are really sweet. I’m honestly there once a week; my friends are sure that I have a Beacon’s Closet addiction. They might not be wrong. This store isn’t for everyone. You’ve got to do a bit of digging. But if you’re up for it, you can find insane pieces. I’ve found everything there from an insanely rare, hand-painted, vintage Grateful Dead t-shirt to a vintage Céline bag to a vintage Issey Miyake winter coat.”
Model Kathleen Sorbara has a thing for vintage. On the days when she’s not in front of the lens, chances are you’ll find her digging through vintage Levi’s, casing flea markets for rare finds, schooling herself on cult classic films or sourcing vintage for her own store, Chickees Vintage. Here, Sorbara shares with RUSSH her guide to shopping vintage in New York City.
