For the uninitiated (aka, most people under the age of 25); the 2009 dark comedy-slasher Jennifer's Body was the God tier of adolescent horror films. Sure, the full extent of the films' greatness wasn't entirely recognised at the time. But now, more than a decade on, we finally know better.
Which is why Amanda Seyfried's recent admission that a sequel is en route has us more than a little excited. Sitting down with Adam Brody for Variety's 'Actors on Actors', the actress said definitively: “We’re making another one."
It's also not the first time one of the film's stars has expressed interest in a follow up. Back in 2021, Megan Fox (who plays the titular Jennifer) told the Washington Post, “This movie is art, but when it came out, nobody was saying that. Critically, everybody shit on it.”
But thankfully, for those of us who want to see Jennifer's Body get the justice it deserves, we might finally get our moment. Fox shared that she isn't totally opposed to signing up for another round, telling the publication, “I don’t think it’s a hard movie to make a sequel to... I mean, they should make it into a TV series. That would be cool.”
We're investigating, below.
What is Jennifer's Body about?
Allow us to fill you in. Jennifer's Body sees Fox star as an ascendant demon-possessed cheerleader, alongside a young Seyfried as her put-upon best friend, who has to intervene before she slaughters the entire male population of her small town. A storyline which still feels entirely justified in 2025...
It also stars Adam Brody as Nikolai, the lead singer of aspiring rock band Low Shoulder. When the girls head to a local dive bar to see them play, Brody’s character reveals bigger plans for his groupie Jennifer — a ritual sacrifice that will kill her and bring the band massive fame. Without giving too much away, some serious problems arise.

Who is involved in the sequel?
According to Seyfried, the follow up project is being helmed by producer Mason Novick, who made the original with Jason Reitman and Daniel Dubiecki. Seyfried also hinted that original director Karyn Kusama may also return.
As for which actors are returning to the project, without giving away spoilers, neither Fox nor Brody's characters make it to the end of the first film — but that won't necessarily stop them. When Brody expressed to Seyfried that his character died, she quipped back: “But so did Megan, and I’m not doing it without her."
It doesn't matter to us which way you dice it, we will be first in line to watch any Jennifer's Body sequel – period.
