Could a Jacquemus x Nike collaboration be in the works?

While all of us were busy swooning over Jacquemus' latest La Montagne campaign with its' wholesome depiction of island life, we may have missed the signs of a forthcoming collab. Not that anything has been officially confirmed as of yet, but it certainly looks, smells and sounds like Jacquemus might just be teaming up with Nike. And honestly? We wouldn't be that surprised, Simon Porte is known for keeping us on our toes.

From the foot of lush Hawaiian mountains, Jacquemus makes a case for ditching the hiking boot in favour of any one of the two Nike iterations on display. The first of which is a take on a style introduced by Nike in the early aughts (one we begged our parents for), the Shox. All-black with a chrome Swoosh and the recognisable coil-like heels; it's not the first style we would have picked for Jacquemus to take on, but we can't deny its athletic aesthete plays nicely with the spirit of La Montagne. Keeping with the theme of Y2K Nike silhouettes, the second style on offer is reminiscent of Nike Air's from that period. Crossed between a basketball and boxing shoe; the style pictured is white with a streamlined nose — to mirror luxury sports cars at the time — and features teeny black Swooshes and a single black line on the front leather upper. Next to these styles are a tonal pair of hiking boots with green laces and pink detailing around the tongue. Could they also be a product of both Nike and Jacquemus? We're going to have to sit tight to find out.

Those who have had their peepers glued to the work of Simone Porte over the years will know that this would mark the first footwear partnership from Jacquemus. Of course, this is all just speculation at the moment but from where we're standing we wouldn't say no to copping a Jacquemus x Nike pair of kicks. As soon as more information drops, we'll be sure to clue you in.
