Introducing ‘Festa della Pasta’, the latest collection from Alex and Trahanas

A range inspired by the sensory nostalgia that comes with a bowl of handmade tagliatelle, homewares design house Alex and Trahanas announces the arrival of its latest - Festa Della Pasta.

A collection of hand-painted ceramics from the Puglia region of Italy, Festa della Pasta is inspired by the elegant grace of wooden sailing boat, Agneta, owned by businessman and playboy Gianni Agnelli. It calls back to the traditions of authentic food devoured on a coastal Mediterranean holidays, shared moments brought to life through taste.

 

 

The edit of tableware is here to help you entertain. A series of showpieces, the collection includes serving bowls, pasta bowls, plates, wine coolers, coasters, trays and even candles. Complimenting the tableware are a selection of garments, that also share the same nostalgic mood.

 

 

 

As a unique touch, Alex and Trahanas collaborated with with specialty pasta shop Fabbrica to create pastas and accompanying pasta sauces as part of the collection. Italian trattoria from the comfort of your own home. Fabbrica Executive Chef and Co-Owner Scott McComas-Williams created two styles of hand-made pasta, one in the shape of nautical ropes and the other in yacht sails. As for the sauce styles, these are inspired by the styles of Puglia. It completes the experience, allowing you to escape to a seaside.

 

 

Rich jewel tones run through the collection. Hand-painted stripes decorate the pasta bowls in hues of sea green and
vino rosso. The more intricate bowls and plates are invite the same green and red but also navy and cream into the fold. The more detailed pieces like the coasters are carved from Florentine wood and finished with opulent gold leaf accents. A set of mismatched, blown wine glasses adds unique character while a delicate woven bread basket stand from Ischia enhances the tactility of the experiemce. The handful of clothing items, created in collaboration with Italian fashion designer, Sara Lanzi, reinforce the mood of the collection, playing on the same colour palette and striped motifs.

 

 

 

Heard and Trahanas say of the collection; “We hope that this edition conjures joyful holiday memories and allow you to sail away on your own Mediterranean escape until the time has come when we can return’.
