Dior Homme Launches Collaboration With Artist Peter Doig

 

This week Dior Men's and Kim Jones have released Dior's latest colourfully camouflaged collaboration from Men's Winter 2021-2022 with artist Peter Doig. Here, we see the Maison's delightful delicate jacquards and reinvented staples in a unique camouflage motif and print, showcasing signatures of the artists work. The collection also features an oversized Saddle in Hobo, as well as Dior's Explorer Boots and B23 sneakers, all stamped in vibrant chocolate and cognac hues.

Balenciaga Releases New Objects: The Laser Cube

 

Always one to do something out of the ordinary - Balenciaga releases a new object and this time it's the laser cube. To be considered as more of something along the lines of a "fashion sculpture", the laser cube features a laser-etched 3D image of the Balenciaga sneaker, rendered to thousands of intricate points in detail. Giving off the effect of a holographic shoe suspended midway in glass, the Balenciaga Laser Cube will fall into the timeless category of Balenciaga Objects and will come in limited editions as a collectible. The Balenciaga Laser Cube is available now at Balenciaga Westfield Sydney and Collins Street Melbourne.

Prada & Theaster Gates Studio Launch Initiative To Support Artists Of Colour

 

This week Theaster Gates Studio and Prada Group launch its new three year program titled the Dorchester Industries Experimental Design Lab, to support all artists of colour using its platform. Works of designers from all different creative sectors such as fashion, furniture, industrial and graphic design will be profiled, as well as the initiative working to assist in financial support and opening up opportunities globally for all artists involved.

Malika Savell, Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer Prada North America states in a press release, “Prada is extremely pleased to be working together with artist and social innovator Theaster Gates to advance our shared goal of equipping the next generation of creative leaders and designers with the skills, network and support that will allow them to grow their artistic influence and professional development”.
