Fashion moments you might have missed this week

We're inching ever closer to the holiday break now, but that doesn't mean the fashion moments and news are slowing down with us. We've got arts-inspired and blue-hue inspired high jewellery collection releases, and a New Zealand fashion House is setting up their first-ever Aussie summer pop up shop. We've got a Melbourne label's boutique getting an Italian bakery take over, and an iconic Aussie denim brand opening the doors of their new brick-and-mortar location in Victoria. There's a new behind-the-scenes documentary to watch about a French Maison's recent runway show, and a retrospective taking place at Miami Art Basel spotlighting one of the work of a prolific architect with one of the world's biggest fashion houses.

Chopard release their Red Carpet High Jewellery collection

Swiss High Jewellery Maison Chopard have released their annual Red Carpet collection, inspired by the 'Seven Arts' of architecture, sculpture, painting, music, literature, dance and cinema. President of Chopard, Caroline Scheufele said in a statement that this latest collection was inspired by her prolific travels and by the many artists she encounters through her work.

Henne transforms their Melbourne boutique into an Italian bakery

Melbourne-based fashion label Henne has transformed their Greville Street retail space into an Italian bakery in celebration of the holiday season. Collaborating with beloved local bakery Baker D. Chirico, the boutique unveiled their 'La Panetteria Italiana' today.

The space will operate as a fully operational bakery, offering a selection of festive Italian sweets for shoppers while they explore the Henne holiday edit (with the bonus of limited-edition gift wrap designed by artist Magnus Reid).

Wynn Hamlyn launches summer pop-up at Westfield Sydney

New Zealand's Wynn Hamlyn have opened their first-ever Aussie retail space at Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street Mall. The pop-up space will service Sydney-siders throughout the summer months (from December 2023 until February 2024), drawing inspiration from Sydney's coastal lifestyle for its striking azure carpets and cobalt countertops.

“Bringing Wynn Hamlyn to Australia feels like a natural progression for us," said designer Wynn Crawshaw. "We are excited to further entrench ourselves in the Sydney community and begin setting up a base here. This expansion is a testament to our commitment to engaging with our Australian audience and providing them with something truly special."

ROLLA'S are set to open their Brighton boutique

Icons of Australian denim, ROLLA'S Jeans, have found a new home for themselves in Melbourne, on Church Street in Brighton as of tomorrow. The boutique is the second ROLLA's store to open in Melbourne, and, for its opening day (tomorrow), will be giving customers the opportunity to peruse the latest collection while sipping a delicious iced latte or matcha.

Dior unveils new documentary covering their Dior Cruise 24 runway

Dior's new behind-the-scenes documentary titled DIOR METAMORPHOSIS (Concealing and Revealing) covers their recent Dior Cruise 24 show, chatting with Maria Grazia Chiuri and art curator Circe Henestrosa (an expert on Frida Kahlo and Mexican savoire-faire) about the artisans brought together for the show. From the design studio set up at the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso, where the défilé took place, the film retraces the entire artistic process of the creative director, a virtuoso conversation, and gives life to the exceptional Dior silhouettes.

Maison Fred reveal their latest novelties at Sydney's Icebergs

To celebrate their 'Happy Blue Shades' novelties, modern jewellers FRED hosted a 'Blue Party' at Sydney's iconic Icebergs Dining Room & Bar this week. Guests of the brand were also invited aboard a Formula 1 race yacht, TP52 – a nod to the brand's ongoing relationship with the Smuggler racing team. The collection is inspired by the hues of the French Riviera, where designer Fred Samuel was immediately captivated by the region's unique light, and the palette of the Mediterranean Sea – azure and aquatic blue colours revealed in a thousand ever-changing shades as the sun traces an arc in the sky.

Art Basel Miami Beach features a retrospective on Louis Vuitton x Frank Gehry

Louis Vuitton's specially-designed booth at Art Basel Miami is a nod to their longstanding collaboration with the prolific Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry. Divided into four themes dear to him – Architecture and Form, Material Exploration, Animals, and his Twisted Box creation - the booth is where the limited-edition Louis Vuitton x Frank Gehry handbag collection will be debuted. The collaborative capsule is based upon the Maison’s iconic Capucines bags, the Twisted Box Trunk, and a remarkable Bear With Us Clutch, based upon Gehry’s 2014 Bear with Us sculpture.
