Max Mara reveals its Pre-Fall 23 'The Iconoclassics' collection

Max Mara wallows in its shared likenesses to Marilyn Monroe – a list that goes beyond their identical initials – for its Pre-Fall 2023 collection, aptly named The Iconoclassics. Drawing on the descriptions of Marilyn in Elizabeth Winder’s Marilyn in Manhattan: Her Year of Joy, the collection pays tribute to a year she spent in New York City and reimagines her wardrobe from that period. For Marilyn it was a time of intentional self-learning, where she developed her tastes in literature, music and art, and formed friendships with writers and intellectuals, including her second husband to be, Arthur Miller. This is the Marilyn Max Mara pays tribute to, with its oversized Varsity jacket, jumpsuits cinched in at the waist, raspberry Teddy Coat and cashmere camel-coloured pieces.
