Devon Lee Carlson goes Y2K with Marc Jacobs

If there is one designer that's been attracting a lot of attention these past few weeks, it would be none other than fashion favourite New Yorker, Marc Jacobs. After his hotel take over rendezvous and his plastic surgery selfie - after releasing an ambiguous teaser on social media this week, everyone's favourite Los Angeles angel Devon Lee Carlson and Marc Jacobs have finally unveiled their collaboration project in the way of Marc Jacobs new Pre-Fall 2021 collection.

Inspired by teenage nostalgia and cultural references of an era now passed, the collection looks back into the diamanté laden style guides of the early 00s and 90s, with cropped Juicy Couture-esque tracksuits, kitschy lace and bow trimmed slip dresses, graphically charged logo shirts and Y2k baby tees.

Devon stated in a recent press release, "Marc is a true fashion icon and inspiration to me. All of the pieces in this collaboration were designed to be worn in any setting, at home with slippers or out on the town with your most fun heels... Getting to design this collaboration has been such an honor and a dream that I’m just waiting to wake up from!"

To round off its near 18 month long collaborative efforts, the duo have designed and released what will soon become a new iconic Marc Jacobs handbag design, available in its small and quaint archival 00s body and available in both hot pink or black leather. The hand bag strap doubles as a Marc Jacobs charm necklace detachable at the handle, transforming the hand bag into a purse; the strap then becoming a jeweled necklace for the wearer.

The playful and kittenish campaign was lens by photographer Conor Cunningham, featuring Devon Lee Carlson's pooch Martin who also debuts in caricature splashed on the Marc Jacobs x Devon Lee Carlson track suit.

The full collection is now available for sale through marcjacobs.com with more information and updates available throughout all official Marc Jacobs social media channels.
